Black Woodpecker in the Woods

One of Jim’s largest watercolours to date, Black Woodpecker in the Woods is an atmospheric study of light, shadow and movement through dense woodland.

Created using Chinese ink, carbon ink and water spray, the piece is built through layered washes, drips and organic textures — allowing the medium to move freely across the surface. The result is a richly immersive scene, where the forest feels alive, shifting between depth and silhouette, with the woodpecker cutting through the composition.

At this scale, the work has real presence — the vertical sweep of the trees and the fluid ink marks drawing you into the woodland itself.

Delivery Information

Orders are normally dispatched within 4 to 6 working days of payment.

All our prints are sent in specially made unmarked heavy duty art tubes, via track and traceable Royal Mail delivery service –  either special delivery before 1 pm or Parcel force 24 hours signed for. Due to the high volume of sales we do not send tracking numbers or notify buyers when we have sent the items, but we can track and trace via Royal Mail if your item fails to arrive.

Framed items are sent either by private door to door carriers or Parcel Force 24 hour. Larger original works by Jim Moir are sent via a specialist fine art courier service. Delivery costs are approx. £45 – £75.

We can send unframed original prints or art on paper worldwide, please ask us for a shipping quote. Unfortunately, we cannot send framed art works outside of the UK.

We cannot be held responsible for any damage to overseas parcels during transit. All artwork is sent out in photographed condition.
